*The grandmother of an 8-year-old boy who’s mom claims he was fathered by Lil Wayne says a recent court order demanding a paternity test would’ve been done much sooner, but was delayed by Hurricane Katrina.
After the boy’s birth in 2002, his family “tried multiple times to get a paternity test” against Wayne only to face unforeseen delays, including Hurricane Katrina three years later, according to the grandmother’s attorney.
The lawyer also says, the New Orleans court system moved at a sluggish pace anyway, and many court records were destroyed in the deadly 2005 hurricane, pushing their case back by a matter of years.
As previously reported, the grandmother finally got a new court order for a DNA test while the rapper was in Rikers Island. The judge has now given Weezy until Dec. 9th to get it done.
