*Natalie Cole is taking an interesting approach to Christmas this year by joining the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for her newest holiday release, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”

The 14-track project, inspired by her father Nat King Cole, was recorded live at the choir’s annual Christmas concert last year.

This will be the singer’s first release since her life saving kidney transplant back in May of 2009. The same day, her sister, Cookie passed away.

“This year has been a very emotional year for me, so to close it out working with these wonderful people is just such a feeling of goodness,” Cole said at the press conference before the concert.

Some of the featured songs include “Grown-Up Christmas List,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “For Unto Us a Child Is Born,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Cole also threw in a few international holiday songs too. The 90-minute concert is available on DVD.
