*For the first time in his legendary career, Paul McCartney is scheduled to perform at New York’s world famous Apollo Theater.
The 68-year-old former Beatle is scheduled to rock the Harlem venue on Dec. 13 as part of Sirius XM’s celebration of reaching 20 million subscribers, the company announced today.
The invitation-only concert will be held for Sirius XM listeners, and air live on six Sirius XM channels.
The station also is launching “Paul McCartney’s Band on the Run Radio,” a monthlong music channel devoted to McCartney’s music catalog. It runs Nov. 29 through Dec. 26.
In related news, Apple announced today that the entire Beatles catalog has finally come to iTunes.
After years of rumors, negotiations and even a few lawsuits, iTunes is offering each Beatles album for sale individually, or the entire box set for $149.99. Apple has given each album — along with the box set — the full iTunes LP treatment. This means you can browse through track listings, liner notes and photos. Also, each album comes with a mini documentary, while the box set includes the full concert film from the Washington Coliseum in 1964.
