The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music provides professional business and artistic training toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

“NYU’s Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at the Tisch School of the Arts.”…aint this nepotism?
Ain’t that Clive Davis.
Definition of “Nepotism: see Clive Davis”
All things aside, I am a huge fan of Swizzy eclectic work especially with female artists like Beyonce, Fantasia and/or Mariah. A lot of his music is not “a first time, I get it sorta thing”. Swizz layers his music with complexities that leave the less disciplined music lover grasping for melody. To me, he is truly a “producer”….though it may seem that he struggles with melody in some of my favorite songs, when I finally get it, the songs usually take on even further depth. I love the challenge he presents to me, as a fan.
It is interesting that Clive, classifiable as a “traditionalist”, with go with a songwriter/producer like Swizzy. Clive likes instantly identifiable “hits”……that is not something I think of when I think of a Swizzy-production.
just because your popular doesn’t mean that you are best suited for certain accolades. IMO Swizz Beats is very limited. He uses pretty-much the same formula from one song to the next. He’s just the most popular rap producer in NYC and that’s why Clive chose him….and of course his connection to Alicia Keys helped in the decision making process I’m sure.
yep, nepotism as its finest.
