I tried watching RHoA last night, but the muscle relaxers kicked in and hubby was watching the game. But, the whole pickle thing was a bit excessive. I even thought the photographer was weird in her comments while she was taking the pictures.
Phaedra and the pickles were a hot mess. She needs to focus on elocution & enunciation and then she needs to figure out when she REALLY got pregnant.

Ylawdy, don’t Nelly look like he has a big one? By the way, O is doing better in school some days. Last week, he had 3 greens (meaning he got in very little trouble and 2 yellows meaning he got in trouble a few times.) But his teacher wrote on his 9 weeks report card that he could have a case of ADD. It took everything in my not to get Little Rock hood on her. She also recommended him to see a behavorial center they have at school called Living Hope. Living Hope is a behavorial center that diagnosis provides them with treatment. They are a statewide organization and they also contract with the schools. So I talked to the woman at Living Hope. She asked me 100 questions about O to help her see what the problem is. During the middle of the questions, she stopped and said she’s been with O’s school for 6 yrs and his teacher has never recommended a student to Living Hope so she’s kindof confuse by my answers to my questions. Bc just by my answers it didn’t seem he had any mental problems ADHD or ADD. I told her my son is just all boy. Then she started talking about her 3 yr old son and how active he is and some may mistake him for having a mental problem. Anyway, since I did the interview with her, she’s going to observe and spend time with O. I go back in 3 months to get the results.

Ark….they tried to tell me the same thing about my son YEARS ago. Told them to take their tests and stick them up…well you know the rest. Damn teachers just don’t want to teach or expect to have a classroom full of kids sitting indian style with their hands in their laps. that’s just not going to happen everyday. I had my son’s parent teacher conference yesterday. First time since he was in preschool that I didn’t leave with smoke coming out my head and ears. What a difference a decent school makes!!! He’s doing well and progressing. We were able to CONSTRUCTIVELY discuss what things he needs to improve and what strong points he already possesses that will help him succeed. He was 2% away from honors. This is coming from a child where I haven’t seen an A on a report card in the last couple years. The whole experience was just very positive and pleasant. My baby was eager to find out what he needed to do to bring up his English grade. He eloquently asked questions and was attentive to his teacher’s answers. I tell you complete turn around from this time last year! I wanted to leave there and go to his old school and say ‘yeah, bytches…now what’. SMH
ARk et al, Let me share my thoughts: I know yall bout to kill me with this next statement….but I think “I’m literally scared of that title” ___In Relationship___ I believe I’ve shared this before…but I’ve always sucked at being in one…I’ve always found reasons to get the hell out of em when they seem to be getting too involved or lady’s becoming too attached. Its almost like I look at being in one like transitioning into the next phase of my life. Reaching the climax, then heading toward the downslope of my bell curve. Not to place blame, but I do think some of it has to do with not seeing a strong, close knit marraige in my home or homes I frequented. Then on top of all that…my ease in speaking with ladies, meeting new ones, and having them become interested definitely slows my interest in settling. LHM – my issue with Riley’s relationship with her father is that maybe the dad is making somewhat of an effort now and if he’s a decent, law abiding citizen, I think he should have the opportunity to explore & form a relationship with his daughter. I don’t think Riley should have to go to that funeral but I do think Khandi should encourage her to make an effort if the dad is trying to make an effort.
I would hate for her to grow up and possibly miss out on some nurturing that he could have provided her (it’s obvious she DOES want a father figure… I think her natural father should get that chance). Now if he starts letting her down, lying to her or whatever, then Khandi can say ‘cool, you don’t have to have a relationship with your dad’.
Don’t know the specifics for real, for real but my take is that if you weren’t ‘daddy’ from the womb, don’t show your azz up YEARS later trying to be one. I have 2 friends who have a baby. Mom lives in one state, dad lives in another. The son decided he didn’t want to go visit his dad anymore because he didn’t like the rules of the house. The mom was cool with that.
I held my tongue until she asked my opinion and then I let her know how wrong I thought she was.
Unless the child is being beaten, neglected, starved, etc, I don’t think he should have a say in having to go spend time with his father (father works, is hilariously funny, an all around good dude). The son simply didn’t want to go because his dad makes him man up and not act like a little pansy-@ss.
In my opinion, the son should not have been allowed to make that decision and I feel the same way about Riley.

I think relationships help you to know what you do and don’t want. Instead of approaching the idea of a relationship as if this is it, approach it as this is it…for right now. If you don’t have relationships, how will you ever know when it IS the right one and the right time? How will you know how to nurture it when it is the right one and the right time? Love, your friends situation and Rileys situation isn’t comparing apples to apples. Your friends man TRIED to have a relationship with the child. Rileys dad went 8 monts at a time between calls. Now, he wants that relationship. Kandi was right in trying to facillitate that, but trying to encourage her daughter to go to her grandmothers funeral to ‘support’ a dad who calls every 8 months is a nogo in my book.
We will have to disagree on this one.

Even if he’s only doing it because someone called him a deadbeat, maybe that was the kick in the @ss he needed to make him do the right thing and maybe his intentions are good now.

I think Riley should go to the funeral with her MOTHER. Not for her dad, but to be exposed to the other side of her family. They may step up and be a part of her life even if the father isn’t. PSF has a relationship with her sisters, aunts, cousins etc while wanting nothing at all to do with her dad and that was MY doing by making sure they always knew how to contact her and she knew how to contact them. They forged their own relationships from there.
Candidly speaking, I am proof that biological fathers who show up later in life after an epiphany doesn’t mean they deserve to be a father to their daughter. Mine showed up at 16, and by then I didn’t desire a relationship. The opposite of love isn’t hate, its indifference. I could care less about his needs to be a father.
I turned out alright, although I had a heaux period in the early 90′s LOL

Dad’s loss! And there are plenty of kids who have a father figure who isn’t their father. A chick who goes to my church introduced her son to his father at his grandmother’s funeral.
That was BS to me!!! FUTHERMORE, I told her my child wouldn’t have been at the funeral to begin with. I thought the grandmother lived outta town. Hell naw, she lived right here in KC and did all that hollering and screaming at a church 2 miles from our church. Not once did she try to play a part in his life either. I’ve always said I didn’t give a damn what happened, any grandchild of mine will know me. We don’t give kids enough credit. They shouldn’t be made to get to know a stranger.
I agree with Lovely somewhat. I do think 7 is too young to have the final say. I think mom and dad need to talk, set up guidelines and start with visitation. If the father then shirks his duties, it’s the MOTHER’S responsibility to make the call about future contact. I agree a deadbeat parent can reform and should have the opportunity to parent. The child will draw her own conclusions about the parent, but needs exposure to draw a correct conclusion.
So am I just too sympathetic to the cause of the father & the daughter who needs to at least give it a shot?

Hell, after my parents divorced I didn’t wanna be around my mom at all but my grandma made me and 20 years later I’m thankful for that. Our relationship might not be perfect but she’s still my mother and she deserves the opportunity to be in my life and I’m glad the adults made sure we worked on that.
It’s a tricky situation. I always left the door open for PSF to have a relationship with her sperm donor (as she calls him). I encouraged her to talk to him and she did although reluctantly most times. As time went on and she aged, she decided she didn’t want to be bothered with him and that was fine because she was old enough to draw rational conclusions AND the effort had been made. At this point, it’s his loss. We have to be careful to keep our feelings about the other parent out of the equation and give the child and the other parent a fair shot at establishing or not establishing a relationship.

To each his/her own. From all appearances, he DID make feeble attempts at fatherhood. Every 8 months or so he would call. That’s a lifetime to a 7 year old. Forcing her to go to a funeral (of a lady who she obviously didn’t have a relationship with because she had to ask who died) for ‘support’ is just wrong. Perhaps setting up something (supervised playdate, etc) would be a start. But the funeral… NELL HAWL…

LOL @ LHM. I meant to add she shouldn’t force her to go to the funeral. Kandi has bad choices in men. The current dude (the dude from the 1st episode) has 4 kids by 3 different women. She definetly has a type. Don’t know if they are still together now but he did an interview last month saying they were together.

He didn’t take it well. It was not a mutual decision and he did not see it coming. I just realized that you can love someone but after you start seeing all of the shyt in their lives you have to do what’s right for you. Believe me I was not sad at all or hurt by the decision, in actuality I had made my mind up 2 months ago but hadn’t had the nerve to tell him. So for me it was easy.

ARK – yeah, a funeral is a bit much at the age of 7 (hell, I still hate funerals) so I don’t think that’s the appropriate setting but Riley has brothers & sisters and she has a father and they deserve a chance to know one another no matter how many years it took for the daddy to man up and make an effort. She’s not old enough to make that decision.

I just walked around my entire floor for a PSA for these nasty azz batches because I walked into the bathroom stall with shat still left in the toilet.

We are in a corporate environment with state of the art automatic flushing toilets. If your toilet doesn’t flush, turn your lazy ass around and press the button to manually flush it. This is not a Port-a-john where it is ok to leave mess sitting there. I don’t know who did it, but I’ve talked to every female on this foor so it is hitting home for one of you. If I see that again, I am calling our real estate folks to close the bathroom and you all will have to go to the second floor to take a dump. Please and thank you.

The 24 woman who fled the scene of a hit and run in ATL on Easter Sunday, killing a family of 5 was sentenced to 100+ years in jail. I still don’t understand HOW she could flee and then have her mother help conceal the crime.
The discussion at a Marta train station Monday night centered on Ms. Aimee Michael as news about her guilty verdict in the fatal hit and run Easter Sunday crash that killed five people caught the public’s attention.
A jury found Ms. Michael guilty of five counts of vehicular homicide, six counts of hit and run as well as tampering with evidence, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane, according to the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.
No one was surprised about the verdict and expressed little sympathy for the 24-year-old who killed three children, a man and his wife and seriously injured a third woman before fleeing the scene.
Ms. Michael also turned down a guilty plea agreement, instead electing to go to trial with the defense that another vehicle hit her car.
On April 12, 2009 Ms. Michael was speeding along Camp Creek Parkway on a ice cream run in her parent’s gold BMW when she hit a Mercedes traveling beside her, officials said.
The impact pushed the Mercedes into on-coming traffic where it collided head-on with a Volkswagon convertible, and the fiery crash killed an entire family: Mr. Robert Carter, his wife, Delisia, and her 9-year-old daughter, Kayla, as well as their 2-month-old son, Ethan, district attorney spokeswoman Ms. Yvette Brown said.
Tracie Morgan survived the crash with multiple injuries but her daughter 6-year-old Morgan Johnson, who was seated in the Volkswagon’s backseat, didn’t.
And Ms. Michael kept going, leaving behind her a ruin of mangled metals and broken bodies.
“In the days that followed, Aimee Michael and her mother Sheila Michael conspired to have the damaged vehicle repaired to conceal evidence of the crash,” Ms. Brown said. “Despite repeated public pleas for the hit and run driver to come forward, Aimee Michael failed to do so.”
Then a neighbor called police about the gold BMW parked outside the Michaels’ family home. And two weeks after the crash, Ms. Michael was arrested. Her mother also was arrested and earlier pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence and hindering the apprehension of a criminal.
Mother and daughter are expected to be sentenced Thursday morning.

I like lancome products partcularly their mascara. Typically I buy the cil booster which is like a conditioner that you apply that elongates and seperates the lashes. Then you buy one of their fabulous mascaras to cover. I just didn’t fill like spending $50+ to get both so I opted just for the cil booster($22).
What drugstore mascara do you suggest using? I truly have no clue.

I use & like Maybelline Falsies Volume express. I’m gonna switch it up though b/c I like to try different mascaras based on recommendations.
OJ – I use Defincils by Lancome and it’s not super expensive. I also sometimes use this one by Clinique but I can’t remember the name of it. It’s in a dark green tube.

I find loreals lip glosses a poor substitute foy my lancome juicy tubes but I bet the mascara will work.

Osun, my lashes are really long, but I pump up the volume with volumnious. My friend mentioned this stuff you use on your eyebrows to help them grow– so much that women have to trim them. Love I like definicils and alone it is not too bad but today I was opposed to downing over $50 on mascara today.
I have started tightening my buckle sine I have to shell out $2500 for my upcoming surgery in a couple of weeks. With the new healthcare legislation that passed our previous insurance vendor’s prices tripled. Therefore we have this new crappy insurance by aetna that had a $2500 out of pocket deductible which I ave to pay to the doctors upfront.
