James Meeks: Illinois state senator, minister and Chicago mayoral candidate

*The mayoral candidate for Chicago, James Meeks, is back in the news again with ideas on the minority set asides for the city.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, he has his own thoughts on why the program for the set asides is not working for African Americans.

He was on a radio show Wednesday on WVON-AM (1690), where he said,“Why are we watering down the word minority so much that black folks can’t get more of the $1 billion set aside for us?” (loosely translated)
