*The South is set to rise again on December 20, but the NAACP is not having it! They plan to protest what the South Carolina NAACP President is calling a “celebration of slavery.”
The Secession Ball is supposed to be held to commemorate the 150th anniversary of South Carolina’s secession from the Union.
The co-sponsors of the event, the S.C. Sons of Confederate Veterans, tried to manipulate the facts saying that ”slavery was one of several issues that caused – but it was not the cause – of the Civil War.” (more…)
I don’t think that African Americans get it. These people are not going to care if you march or protest their actions. Actually, that will just empower them. The only way to hit the KKK, which is who these people are, is to hit them with one lawsuit after another. Blacks, Hispanics, Whites, Muslims, Blue, Orange, or even Purple people should all start coming up with ways to boycott SC. Draining the whole state’s resources is the best way to go about this. NO tourism; NO purchase in non essential stores; NO commercials on their networks; NO conferences; NO teams from other states for games, etc. Make them pay. Protesting makes you look like you’re asking for something. African Americans are now in a position to demand respect, and that is what they should do.
