*Officials in Hawaii have tracked down papers indicating that President Obama was indeed born in their state, according to its new governor.
Gov. Neil Abercrombie, who took office in December, told Honolulu’s Star-Advertiser on Tuesday that “our investigation” indicates there is a recording of his birth.
“It actually exists in the archives, written down,” he said.
The new Democratic head of the state vowed when he took office that he would do his best to end the debate over Obama’s birth, which began in 2008 during the presidential campaign.

You know, if I lived in Hawaii I would be a little peturbed that my tax dollars had to go toward “proving” that Obama is US citizen. It really galls me that folks have allowed the wingnuts and birthers and teabaggers to have so much power that this was even necessary. Good GREIF!!!
I don’t believe this. I think this guy means to do good, but he’s only making matters worse. That’s exactly what the birthers are contending, that if there is a legitimate birth certificate, why can’t they produce it. Now he’s going to come out and fess up that they can’t find it. He needs to find the damn thing first then come out and shut them up. But this type of uncertainty is only adding fuel to the fire.
I already heard a birther jumping on it this morning. Watch them jump all over it in the coming days.
