Lauryn Hill Keeps Fans Waiting Again…This Time in Atlanta

*Lauryn Hill has angered her fans for the second time in a month, after keeping an audience waiting for three hours in Atlanta and changing the arrangement of her songs beyond recognition, according to witnesses.

Her start time at Center Stage was supposed to be 9 p.m. on Friday (Jan 14), but she didn’t begin her performance until midnight. The singer then declared she was tired of “playing the same music night after night” and performed several unfamiliar versions of her hit songs.

One fan told Sandrarose.com, “Nobody could participate because NOBODY knew the music! Everybody was looking around like ‘What Song Is This?’  [Listen to her new arrangement of "Lost Ones" below.]

“It was new music completely. The lyrics were the same, but you had to be on ecstasy to follow the music!… Everybody just stood there with their arms folded. It was a waste of money, and a waste of time. If she did another show in Atlanta, no one would come!”

A number of fans booed, while others walked out, according to the unnamed audience member, who adds, “They didn’t walk out – they stomped out!”

Last month, Hill, who is touring small venues across the U.S., annoyed concert-goers at a show in New York by keeping fans waiting for almost four hours…then telling them she was “worth the wait.’”

Below, a positive reaction from the Center Stage crowd to at least one performance.

  1. EUR picks the worst fuckin’ pics ever! WHY on Earth would you guys choose a pic of Lauryn lookin’ dead like she’s in a casket and shit? LOL!

Fans are fickle creatures and so too will be your money, pissin’ off you fans…Lauren maybe you should borrow that tacky watch that Kanye had made for him, and respect your fans.

Guess I can add Lauren’s name right next to Erykah’s on my list of singers that I will not pay to see anymore…

  5. I think however she wants to arrange her songs is up to her, many artists are fickle and she definitely appears to be one of them BUT the 3 hr late starting time is totally unacceptable. I’m sure she’s racking up fees and they have to be cutting into her profit. Why don’t her handlers just move the starting time of the shows so that won’t enrage fans?!?! I don’t feel bad for individuals who are attending her shows with prior knowledge of her current behavior. This is a pattern for her and it’s not going to stop until people stop buying tickets.

  6. MyPhilosophy says:

In and of itself, that Lost Ones reboot, from what I could hear, wasn’t that bad. Refreshing an old song isn’t a bad move (Jill Scott does it all the time with great results), but your entire catalog? That’s something that you might want your paying fans to know ahead of time to prepare them. ‘Lauren Hill: The Remix Tour’ on the ad bill would at least let them know to be ready for something different.

But then, why are these ‘fans’ still paying to see this woman? Don’t they read? Shouldn’t they know by now that Lauren shows up when she wants, if at all? Just like with any other business enterprise, at some point consumers have to start voting with their dollars…

  7. Yeah Lauryn I know that you think that you are worth it, but I don’t. I rather listen to your shit on cd rather pay to wait for your yeast infected ass to show up 3-4 hours late. That should be an automatic refund IMO. People are stupid to keep on supporting someone who obviously feels that they can do whatever they want to their PAYING fans!!

  8. Jack_Blackmusic says:

Damn that was some serious “CP” Time there
Even the other late-assed CP’s that were there were upset! ;-)

  9. yeast infected!!!Al B. you wrong for that, funny but wrong…What’s up with this chick, does she really believe that she is worth it that much to keep fans waiting hours for her…She must be on some serious drugs!! She is extremely unprofessional and that kind of behavior is the kiss of death for any career. MJ could come back from the dead and not keep his fans waiting that long…Lauryn get over yourself, you’re not that relevant anymore…

The arrangement is fire, I like it! But that’s not what people paid for, she should have added it to her set at the end or in the middle. start with the original and change up at the end I think some people may still see her but if the show starts at 7 she won’t see me until 10:30 cuz I know better!

  11. Al_DeCosey says:

Here in lies the problem………she’s really only touring based off of ONE album which came out 12 years ago….lol What does she expect?! I mean, I know it’s L Boogie and she’s mad talented but I wouldn’t pay to go hear her sing 12 year old songs unless they were a part of a much larger catalog. The fact that she didn’t think that the songs would become stale when that’s all she’s singing nite after nite after nite…..lol chick got alot of issues, maybe she’s not ready to come back after all……….
