Lil Jon Owes Uncle Sam a lot of Money

*No one can hide from Uncle Sam. Not even the king of crunk, Lil Jon. He is one of the many artists standing in line to be whooped by the government due to back taxes.

The IRS slapped him with a $638,937 lien on the rapper’s Isle of Palms home. The house was listed for $1.9 million and was foreclosed on last August, according to the Detroit News.

He has obviously been dodging the tax man for some time. The IRS said since June of 2008, he’s been getting away with it. But not anymore.

Lil Jon will be on “Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice” this coming season. Interestingly, six other members of that show’s cast have faced tax trouble in the past as well.

And how many of these celebrities had accountants?
    Probably all of them.

I can’t believe that all these celebrity accounts are that incompetent. There got to be some of them whose client doesn’t end up owing these large tax debts. I would also think that a celebrity would seek out these good accounts, knowing how easy it is to end up owing hundreds of thousands in tax and possibly facing jail time.

    Just doesn’t make any sense.

Then again, you can always do your own tax. That’s what I do. I don’t trust any of them. Not H&R block, not jackson Hewitt … Not even the free ones offered by these non-profit organizations.

    • Doing your own taxes is find if you are simply filing the 1040. However, once you are in that league that has investments all over the place, mulitple properties in different states, a list of employees; unless you are a trained expert or an accountant its becomes almost impossible to do your own taxes. Brooklynbabe makes a good point; it’s not that they don’t have accountants it’s just that they don’t pay. I suspect that they often simply don’t have the money in hand once they are told what they owe.

The problem isn’t that these fools don’t have good accountants, the problem is that they don’t mail in the payments that the accountant tells them that is due. There taxes are done, they are told what they owe and by when the payment has to be mailed and they just flat out don’t do it. Many accountants repeatedly call and sned letters to their clients reminding them of their debts due. The same deadbeats usually wind up owing the accountant a wad in the end also for their services rendered.

  5. I guess these folks have NO Idea where Wesley Snipes is right now and why, huh? I don’t get it. The average person has to pay taxes, why in the heyell do celebs/rich folks think they don’t have to?
