*President Obama has written a proclamation for Black History month–now called National African American History Month–every year since being in office.
In his proclamation, he re-emphasizes the contributions of African Americans and the nation’s benefit from them. He also reminds us of the heroic efforts of our people and how that same level of formidable resiliance will bring us into our greatest future.
He calls on the nation’s “public officials, educators, librarians, and all the people of the United States to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.”
