Video: Jennifer Lopez Breaks Down on ‘Idol’

*Here’s the clip of Jennifer Lopez’s breakdown that’s been a hot topic on the morning shows today.

The “American Idol” judge got emotional after having to eliminate a contestant who had previously tugged at the nation’s heartstrings.

Texan singer Chris Medina had previously brought his brain-injured fiancée to meet Lopez and fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler – which made it even more difficult for J.Lo to eliminate Medina last night.

Slow and deliberate in her speech, Lopez praised Medina but told him that, in the singing competition, his performance just wasn’t strong enough. When he left the room, Lopez broke down into tears and sobs, worried that she hadn’t told him in the right way and afraid that she had broken his heart.

Medina, meanwhile, seemed disappointed but fine. He’ll be performing on “The Tonight Show” on Friday, and since the audition episode with his fiancée aired, she has reportedly received over $29,000 in donations toward her health care, including a handicapped van.

  1. Ya basta! J-Lo, he11 is wrong with. there will be friendly casualties along the way. suck it up.

  2. What is with the tears J-Lo??? I do not beleive you for a minute because one ou kept your head down the whole time, why not hold your head u and let the tears flow where everyone could see them??? She was dapping at her eyes but she was not crying all of this was done for effect and to get the ratings. Chris Medina was a fairly good singer whom they should of kept a while longer. As always AI gets rid of the superb singers and are left with the subpar ones who are photogenic but cannot sing that well. I predict they will bring Medina back as a wild card pick for the final group.

  3. Y’all do know that J-Lo is an actress right?? What a load! 1st of all these emotional back stories should not be included because I believe it makes the judges favor one person over another. Believe it that the only reason he had to be eliminated is BECAUSE HE HAD TO BE ELIMINATED…meaning that he was simply not good enough!

    • I agree 100%…I haven’t watched AI since Fantasia won but I know they now give back stories. I heard this guy’s story weeks ago in the mainstream media (just like I heard about this so called crying spell). They even brought the young lady in a wheelchair inside the audition to meet the judges, which I thought was totally WRONG!!! Although I know it’s for the rating they need to just let it remain a singing competition…period. Everyone has a story… and if I were in their position and didn’t have a story…shoot…I’d make up one.

    • I agree about favoring one contestant over another becaues i read some where in on of the entertainment blogs that Lauren Alaina the blond I think she is 15 or so from Tenn. is the favorite to win it all. She sung one of Steven Tyler’s songs. I do not know how thre this info is but it makes the show look less credible.

  4. Puh-leeze! This woman is for her own and has no qualms expressing it.

    • yes she is and i don’t c anything wrong w/ that. just bcuz “we” aint we can’t get mad when others r. every1 should b about their own. Black celebs need 2 step their game up. herein lies the prob.

  5. Are they that desperate for ratings?!

  6. Bayou-Beauty says:

IF she’s really crying, she’s crying because she realizes that she was able to have a somewhat successful singing career with her mediocre voice and now she’s sending home people that she knows sings better than she does.

  7. dang yall cutting hard on jlo. lol. i don’t watch AI anymore, haven’t 4 years when it became quite evident it was not a singing competition.
