Regina King as Det. Lydia Adams in TNT's "Southland," renewed for a 4th season

*TNT has ordered 10 more episodes of its critical darling “Southland,” giving the Regina King series a fourth season, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Co-starring Michael Cudlitz, Ben McKenzie and Shawn Hatsoy, “Southland” has been averaging 2.9 million viewers during its recently wrapped third season, which featured the death of a major character.

The series, from John Wells Productions, was rescued by TNT between Seasons 1 and 2, when NBC dropped the drama as it shuffled its primetime schedule to make room for its ill-fated “Jay Leno Show” at 10 p.m.

“Southland has been acknowledged by many critics as one of the sharpest, most entertaining and most authentic dramas on television today,” said Michael Wright, executive vp, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies.
