*The producers of the HBO series “Treme,” which follows life in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, are fighting to stop the demolition of a row of homes the city says are in danger of collapsing.

The homes became a symbol of post-Katrina in New Orleans when they were featured as the backdrop of a poster promoting the television series, according to producers, who say they’d rather the city preserve and renovate the homes instead, reports the AP.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s administration says the houses are in imminent danger of collapse and that neighbors want them demolished.

Landrieu’s spokesman also said Thursday that the houses are across the street from a park and playground.
