*NEW YORK — As the advertising industry’s premier organization dedicated to fostering and promoting increased diversity in the advertising, marketing and media industries, The ADCOLOR Industry Coalition is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a year-long series of events throughout 2011.

The launch event will take place on Wednesday, April 6th at 10:30 AM with a special lighting ceremony in Times Square, featuring ADCOLOR’s  fifth anniversary signage on the iconic Reuters screen, located at 3 Times Square.  The signage will appear throughout the day and evening on April 6.

The event is presented by The ADCOLOR Industry Coalition and Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals.

“We are delighted to kick off the 2011 season of advancing the mission of The ADCOLOR Industry Coalition and The ADCOLOR Awards with a signature lighting ceremony in the heart of New York City and in partnership with Thomson Reuters, a leader in the communications industry,” says Tiffany R. Warren, founder of ADCOLOR and The ADCOLOR Awards & Industry Conference and senior vice president, chief diversity officer for Omnicom Group Inc.  “To have our logo in lights in such an iconic location is both gratifying and timely as we literally shine a spotlight on the industry and on diversity.”

The event also marks the fifth anniversary of the ADCOLOR Awards, which has become one of the industry’s most coveted and notable awards and events.  The 2011 ADCOLOR® Awards & Industry Conference will take place September 16-17 in Los Angeles at The Beverly Hilton.

The ADCOLOR industry Coalition (AIC) is a 501(c)(6) organization that was founded in 2005. The AIC seeks to support and inspire professionals of color and diversity champions within the advertising, marketing and media industries.

As its first initiative, The ADCOLOR industry Coalition launched ADCOLOR and the ADCOLOR awards in 2007 to promote increased diversity in the advertising, marketing and media industries, and to inspire current and future communications professionals of color by celebrating the accomplishments of diverse role models and industry leaders.

ADCOLOR Alumni, ADCOLOR Awards & Industry Conference Planning Committee Members, Sponsors, Supporters and Friends will be in attendance at the event.
