*LA radio personality/actress Tammi Mac and fellow actress, Vanessa Bell Calloway, have hooked up to present aspiring minority talent the opportunity to perform in front of industry movers and shakers.
Mac, afternoon drive host at Stevie Wonder’s 102.3 KJLH, is the mastermind behind “Mac’s Minute Microphone Mixer,” a talent showcase that provides entertainers the opportunity to perform LIVE for industry executives.
The event, which will go down at the Regency West, in LA’s Leimert Park district, , is open to all performers over 21 and the only catch is that the performance be one minute.
“Mac’s Minute Microphone Mixer” also allows performers to present their headshots and resumes to industry executives while mixing with them after the showcase.
“This event is an exclusive and one-of-a kind to Los Angeles and encourages minority artists to showcase themselves in the only place where we can be spotlighted in today’s entertainment climate, especially actors,” Mac says.
The showcase dates are Friday, April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th and May 13th. Doors open at 7:30pm. The event is open to actors who perform monologues, singers, dancers, comedians, sketch comedy troops, musicians and more.
Featured industry guests will include casting director Twinkie Byrd, producer/writer Stacey Evans Morgan, executive and senior producers of Byron Allen’ s Entertainment Studios, Jenny Hope, Allison Barksdale, representatives from William Morris Endeavor, Don Buchwald and more. The event is opened to the public and is being billed as “The Gong Show” meets “America’s Got Talent!”
