Thandie Newton Reteaming with Tyler Perry for ‘Good Deeds’

   

*Thandie Newton and Tyler Perry will follow up their collaboration in last year’s “For Colored Girls,” with the director’s upcoming romantic drama “Good Deeds.”

The actress has been cast in the lead as a single mom who catches the eye of Perry’s character, Glen Deeds, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Perry is writing, directing and starring in the project, which is being produced by his Tyler Perry Studios as well as Lionsgate.

Newton most recently completed “The Retreat,” starring Jamie Bell and Cillian Murphy.

    Perry’s production company is looking more and more like an acting troupe with all of the recycled actors he’s used.

      I think TP chooses people who are willing to work with him, people he feels he has a connection to and so forth. Over the years he has definitely built his database of actors and gave several of them acting opportunity that simply aren’t available to them in the mainstream. As established and celebrated as Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise & Taraji P. are ONLY TP gave them leading roles – no co-star – leading. That says a lot I think.

    Those are going to be some unwatchable scenes.

    Although Tyler + anyone+ kiss +bed = unwatchable to me
