*NeNe just up and left “Celebrity Apprentice” during Sunday’s 3-hour episode, which also saw the firing of Star Jones and La Toya Jackson – who has become the first contestant in show history to be fired twice.
After last week’s boardroom fiasco where NeNe went after Star with a vengeance to save herself, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star wanted to talk out their differences – but Star was not in the mood.
Because of their feud, Donald Trump switched up the teams and put Meatloaf, Star and Marlee Matlin on one team (ASAP) and NeNe, La Toya, Lil Jon and John Rich on the other (Backbone). This is what would later set NeNe off and lead to her sudden decision to leave.
Meanwhile, the teams were tasked with organizing and producing a comedy show but when Team Backbone assembled in their war room, NeNe was nowhere to be found. They called her cell phone and left countless messages to no avail.
Trump finally managed to get hold of her to find out why she had not shown up to resume filming the show. He told her: “If you quit this will follow you for the rest of your life. You went this far to just quit at the end is just stupid NeNe.”
She replied: “You have seven talents there Mr. Trump and you accommodated Star – that’s not fair. You fell for her b*******.”
She then contacted her team members by text message writing: “I can’t stand this environment – it’s too negative. I can’t stand being around Star.”
And with that, NeNe’s name was never spoken again…until the boardroom.
Trump looked into the camera and said: “To you NeNe I say you’re fired. You’re a quitter and Star Jones kicked your ass whether you like it or not.”
In her exit interview below, NeNe explains why she quit the show.
The episode’s first task was to raise as much money as possible by selling tickets to a comedy show. ASAP’s Meatloaf, Star and Marlee won the challenge, which led to the firing of La Toya from Backbone.
For the second part of the three-hour show, the contestants were asked to produce a promotional video for OnStar’s new availability for any car. Star’s team lost, and she got into a heated argument with her teammate Meatloaf outside the boardroom as they waited to learn who would be fired.
It started off as a disagreement over Star’s responsibility in the task, but personal feelings got involved when Meatloaf referred to her as “sweetie.”
In the end, both Star’s failure in branding and her sensitivity to “sweetie” led to her demise.

1) i woulda had more respect for her had she said she quit because she couldnt stand donald dump’s behavior concerning the nations commander in chief.
2) donald dump proved himself once again last night to be a racist and a sexist. any good business man would have fired meatloaf for intimidation as relates to star jones, regardless of how well he performed. you dont breech other employees body space. its a fire-able offense.
In all fairness to Nene, the show was pre-recorded, so all this birther, ivy-league BS that Dump has been spewing lately may not have been on the radar at the time.
The REAL test will be which black celebs will volunteer to go on Dump’s show for the next taping.
Personally, even though I don’t watch the show, I’m sick of it and hope it ends. All it does is keep attention on Dump’s media whoring azz.
agreed
Nene did that to get further attention and to have people talking about her and why she just up and quit the show. On secon thought I bet Trump and she planned this up before hand they are in it together. I do not put anything past either of these two. Trump is a rating hog anyway.
I can’t stand Star Jones! She’s a blatant, basic bitch now folk see what type bitch she really is.
Co-sign. The “you have to come with my credentials before I debate you” was it for me. What a vile person she is! Ugh
I think that was the main reason why she was fired.
She was just too exclusive, with all these rules about how someone should talk to her. “Lower your voice, don’t call me sweetie …”
She got away with it when she was applying it to Nene, but they were getting tired of it. Someone had to cut her down to size.
AGREED, Mothership! That attitude of Exclusivity, was the reason why she and NeNe bumped heads so often….
NeNe was the only one to stand up to her BS, & she didn’t let Star intimidate her… Say what you want about NeNe, but she is a real sistagirl, & you will always know where you stand with her. I know someone just like her, & I have the utmost respect for her.
There was a lot more going on behind the sceens with the NeNe Star drama than any of us will ever know!
I can’t disagree more with your description of NeNe. She ABSOLUTELY let Star intimidate her! She was wholly insecure around her and lashed out after she allowed Star to utlize her to get rid of a teammate. She barks and cusses at people because she is not confident or competent enough to approach with intelligence. And there’s absolutely nothing “real” about her. She’s a phony and a bad actress to boot. “Keepin it real” does not amount to cussing and threatening people. Lil John and John Rich have “kept it real,” ie they have maintained their authenticity while still being competitive. NeNe did no such thing. Time to stop holding her up as a standard-bearer of realness. She is not someone to be emulated!
Last night I looked at the ahow and when Nene found out that she was being swithed to the other team she seemed shocked that she was not going to be on the same team as Star so she could continue to act like a azz toward another Black woman.I realize that she claims a lot of people don’t like Star however she did carry herself in a better light to NOT act like what some people say is a typical Black female and engage Nene in constant ugly behavior.Last week I was in shock to hear Nene cuss and have a full blown tantrum in front of a client on the show.Weather she was angry with Star or not her behavior was really off the charts and now when she thought she was not going to beat Star she quits. If she had just waited through one task then Star would have been gone and she may have had a chance to win Oh I forgot the next tsk involved raising money with friends with money which she obviously does not have any of those. What a cry baby she wanted it her way she told Trump”you catered to Star and not me” WAH WAH WAH
So let me get this straight. After all of the rants about Trump being racist some of you are still supporting his show?
never watched the show but, LoL, you picked up on that too?
And they will watch the next season as quickly as they will surely watch Real Atlanta Housewives.
BTW, I don’t think Trump is a racist. He’s a self-promoter of the worst kind.
“BTW, I don’t think Trump is a racist. He’s a self-promoter of the worst kind.”
EXACTLY!
I wish more of “us” were quicker! We’re so quick to throw out the easiest attack without daring to consider an alternative.
My thoughts exactly DOne!!!
I find that very interesting also DOne.
I haven’t watched the show this season, especilly after the birther BS. I’ve have kept us with what was going on through media outlets like this one.
Musbdherbs, if you don’t think Trump is a racist, then you would know one if he/she slapped you in your face! For all of you that don’t think that he is, then here a little info you should know about this asshole.
In the 1970s, he was sued by the feds for not renting to African-Americans
The discrimination case began in the earliest days of Trump’s career, when he was still in his 20s. The Justice Department hit the Trump Organization with a major discrimination suit for violating the Fair Housing Act.
He “accused the Justice Department of singling out his corporation because it was a large one and because the Government was trying to force it to rent to welfare recipients,” the Times reported. Trump added that if welfare recipients were allowed into his apartments in certain middle-class outer-borough neighborhoods, there would be a “massive fleeing from the city of not only our tenants, but communities as a whole.”
Then this arrogant asshole had the nerve to counter sue the DOJ in the amount of $100 million, for making baseless charges against his company. A federal judge threw out Trump’s counter suit a month later, calling it “a waste of time and paper.”
Woops, especially
Love4paris– I am not a fan of DT but what you wrote above is faulty. In the 4th paragraph, you said he wouldn’t rent to African Americans, but in the 5th paragraph, you said he didn’t want to rent to welfare recipients. Is it possible that he would have rented to African Americans if they were not on welfare? So is it about race or is it about business? If you owned a new apartment building and were trying to make big profits, would you rent to mostly people on welfare or would you rent to those who could afford $$$$?
Don’t be so simple-minded, Versatile.
The federal government concluded he had discriminatory housing practices. Research. Donald’s SPIN was that he didn’t want to rent to welfare recipients. There were blacks not on welfare who could have afforded to live in his condos — they were turned away. Don’t fall for the okey-doke.
His buildings were 95 percent white before and for several years after the government ruling. He refused to comply.
When he did consider renting to blacks, he wanted to charge them more and give them different terms.
You must really like your reality shows if you need to brush all this off as “business.”
SMDH and Laughing at you.
i think some are assuming people on the board supported the show last night. inaccurate, you can see last night episode all over the web without supporting the show. excepts are plentiful.
Thank You @Huey
I don’t know why black folk are choosing to boycott this show when other crap like Being Brown Bobby was in a many black households.
Wait, I go get it.
We need to protect and defend Obama.
What in the hayell does Bobby Brown have to do with Obama? How did Obama even get into the conversation?
I actually was watching 2 Black females win a million dollars. Yes I was watching the Amazing Race FYI!!!!!!!
