*Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival this week, actor Peter Fonda, star of the classic 1969 road movie “Easy Rider,” called President Barack Obama a “traitor” over claims he attempted to gag reporting of the disastrous BP oil spill in May 2010.
Fonda is in Cannes for the premiere of his new movie “The Big Fix,” which focuses on the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon. Fonda accused Washington of attempting to gag reporting of the spillage, saying, “I sent an email to President Obama saying, ‘You are a f***ing traitor,’ using those words. You’re a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military, in this case the Coast Guard, what they can and could not do; and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do.”
In “The Big Fix,” Fonda attempts to gain access to the Louisiana beaches in order assess the impact of the biggest oil spill in US history, only to be turned away by BP personnel.
Be Quiet! Peter who cares what you think anyway, you are sponging off your famous name of which your father and sister are far more talented than you will ever be.
At first I was gonna pull a Clifton Powell and say Peter needs to sit his a$s down before I whoop his a$s, but in this case, maybe we DID INDEED bow to foreign oil. Can you say BP (British Petroleum) DIDN’T have the Gulf Coast bent over?
Regardless of the politics, why does he have to address the President with profanity? I guess since we have an African-American President then it’s O. K. Malcolm X once said, “A man uses profanity when he does not know more appropriate words to use.”
Many people addressed Bush with Profanity. Paul Mooney said *&*& the Bushes. What makes BO so protected? Many Presidents have been ridiculed. BO aint God. I don’t congratulate profanity, but dude is telling the truth. If you think the govt isn’t sleeping with BP then u r sadly mistaken. If u think that video of the cap wasn’t photo shopped then we are all mistaken. Us and China are bedfellows too. Let’s be real and not sugar coat things.
