*A British newspaper reports that Prince was briefly booked to headline this year’s Glastonbury festival in Britain, but ended up dropping out – several times.

Festival organizer Michael Eavis said the music legend was his first choice as a headline act, but after weeks of negotiations the deal fell through and he decided to settle on a bill of U2, Coldplay and Beyonce.

“I tried to get Prince earlier on. At one point he was, then he wasn’t, then he was,” Eavis tells Britain’s Daily Star. “It was a question of a bird in the hand. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, if not three in a bush. In the end I went for the bands we have on the bill now, which ain’t bad.”
