Blair Underwood in "The Event"
*One week after their cancellations were announced, FOX’s “The Chicago Code” starring Jennifer Beals and Delroy Lindo; NBC’s Blair Underwood vehicle “The Event” and NBC’s “Law & Order: Los Angeles” with Terrence Howard all experienced double-digit ratings increases from the previous week.
Monday’s final episode of “The Chicago Code,” which saw Beals’ police commissioner character finally arrest Lindo’s corrupt Alderman Gibbons, drew 7 million viewers, improving ratings by 11 percent.
The series finale of “The Event” gave NBC 4.6 million viewers, while its “Law & Order: LA” drew 6 million, an improvement of 27 percent.
The one-hour performance finale of “Dancing With the Stars” won the night with 22.2 million total viewers. Though the episode was down 6 percent from its last fall performance finale, according to preliminary numbers, “DWTS” grew double digits in total viewers from its year-ago Monday finale.
They can’t leave The Event hanging like that. Especially after all of the ill will that ABC generated by cancelling Flash Forward and leaving it hanging the way they did.
They brought the whole damn planet through a wormhole on The Event. There are too many ways to go with the series for them to just leave it hanging like that. It was really getting good. Assholes!
“the event” was my show!!! and the ending was the BOMB!!!…..I sure hope they bring it back.
i do not think hte execs really gave the above shows a chance considering they were pre- empted for a month or so and then moved to different time slots.
I’m a faithful watcher of all these shows — it’s an OUTRAGE that they got the axe! I’m hoping this is some sneaky PR ploy by the networks to generate enough buzz to actually bring them back–
