*Beyonce premiered another single from her upcoming album “4” on the finale of “American Idol.”
The sultry ballad, titled “1+1,” marks a departure from that high-powered previous single “Run The World (Girls),” replacing the defiance with devotion.
The juxtaposing songs are the first shreds of evidence that she’s keeping her promise that a whole new array of sounds will make their way into “4,” which drew inspiration from an abundance of sources.
Along with the band of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, Beyonce said she, “found a lot of inspiration in ’90s R&B; Earth, Wind & Fire; DeBarge; Lionel Richie; Teena Marie.” In addition, she said, “I listened to a lot of Jackson 5 and New Edition, but also Adele, Florence + the Machine, and Prince. Add in my hip-hop influences, and you can hear how broad it is. I also gave myself more freedom to really belt out some songs, and bring soul singing back.”

I hope the CD is good. I will check it out in June. Beyonce says she listened to Adele that is good and all because I like Adele and I bought her CD now, Beyonce I like you and all BUT!!! you cannot imitate Adele she has an AWESOME voice. lol

I am a harsh critic of Beyonce, but I thought 1+1 was marvelous and perhaps one her best releases.
Some of the notes were too sharp for me… but I guess I’m so used to empty content and nonsensical lyrics (such as “make your checks come out they neck” ???? WTF) that when she has tender lyrics with metaphor I’m just … blown away. LOL.
that song was great,,we are to critical,,what more do you want out of someone when you cant do it any better she is the da bomb..B do your thag. soo talented…people rip the g out of good..with there unbeleavible expectations these days..just let em sing and set bak and enjoy the damm shi..!
