*The massive trailer which Will Smith is using while filming “Men In Black III” has sparked complaints from New York residents who are calling it a nuisance.
The actor, currently filming the sci-fi sequel in Manhattan along with co-stars Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, spends his free time on set in a huge double-decker mobile home, which has been parked in the city’s SoHo district as he shoots scenes.
The trailer is set over two floors and features a cinema, a lounge bar, offices, a meeting room, a full-sized kitchen, as well as a large bedroom and bathroom. It measures 53 feet in length.
But that’s not all.
He also has a second trailer on site which houses his full-sized gym.
The sizable structure has infuriated residents in the neighborhood, who claim the trailer is causing disruption.
Myrna Reisman, 62, who lives close to where the trailer has been parked, tells the New York Post, “It’s ridiculous! I’ve lived here 26 years, and I’ve never seen anything this size. This thing is like a duplex. How would Will Smith feel if I parked that thing out in front of his house? People forget this is a residential neighborhood, not a film lot.”
Another neighbor, Brigette Moreno, 22, adds, “It looks bigger than my apartment! The smell that comes along with it is disgusting. It’s like living in a gas station. I really like Will Smith, but I would be embarrassed if that was my trailer. A little modesty goes a long way.”
City officials have confirmed cops are working with the production team to ensure parking restrictions are not violated by the crew’s vehicles, with Julianne Cho, an associate commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, insisting no rules have been broken.
“NYPD supervisors and officers assigned to the set from the Movie/TV Unit are on hand to ensure a production’s parking is in compliance with its permit,” says Cho.
A rep for Sony Pictures Entertainment, the studio behind the movie, adds, “We know we are guests in the neighborhoods where we film, and are always respectful of the area residents and businesses.”

He has so much money. Why not get live in a hotel? Or, why not just get an apartment? I’m sure that he and his family are there a lot. I’m surprised he doesn’t already have a place there. Most people on the A list seem to. He should use the trailers for out of the way places. NYC – come on now. It’s not necessary. But that’s JMHO.
Doing it Big Willie Style I guess
Oh please prima donnas!
When you start generating the money for the city that the film crews do, then you can talk! Just looking for something to kvetch about. If it was some white actor that they liked, I’d doubt we’d even know about this.
A tremendous amount time goes in between setting up and actually filming one damn scene. You can be doing nothing all day just waiting to do a scene that takes all of two minutes if all goes well. Do you know how much the city will make in taxes on the gas for those things alone?! Shut the hell up!
I don’t blame them for complaining considering, he’s renting a 5-bdrm , 6.5 bath @ 25k a month apartment a a couple a blocks away. I understand the revenue but, do you get where they’re coming from?
No pictures of the trailer = lame story.
that trailer is laid out, like none I’ve seen before on tv a couple years ago. Don’t know where but, you can check it if you google will smith’s trailer”
