*Pop star Beyonce’ may know to shake her thing pretty well. But she also knows what’s important to her as she opens up about those topics in an article appearing in Essence in July. Writing the piece herself, the pop diva shares with the world that some of the things that matters most are the things you can’t buy such as having a husband and a family and simply chilling out.
The Essence cover story, which is penned, “Eat, Play and Love,” focuses on Beyonce’s nine-month hiatus from the music and recording world just to enjoy life.
In the article, Beyonce’ said she was determined to take time off.
“I had talked about taking a vacation before, but always ended up in the studio after two weeks, so no one believed me,” she said. “This time, though, I was serious. I was going to give myself a year to do the things I never get to do. Simple things like play with my nephew, pick him up from school, visit museums, go to concerts, see some Broadway shows, learn to cook a meal and spend time with my husband.
“Yes, I needed some relaxation, but I wanted inspiration too, from regular, everyday things. They did not have to be over-the-top productions. I was looking for tiny moments that would speak to my heart and make me smile…”
After taking a much-needed break, Beyonce’ is ready to get back to the swing of things, Her fourth studio album hit stores June 28th and is lead by the singles “Run The World (Girls)” and “Best Thing I Never Had.”
