*Washington, DC residents are in for a treat in July as gospel sensation, Tré Thomas, gets ready to perform at the popular upscale nightspot, Blues Alley, on Tuesday, July 5th. Thomas will do two shows at 8pm and 10pm, with songs such as his hit “My First Love” and other songs from his Debut CD, A Natural Contrast.
The smooth-voiced singer, who was featured earlier this year on the 30th anniversary of BET’s longest running show, Bobby Jones Gospel, has been extremely busy as of late, performing at various locations in and around the District of Columbia. He also hosts his online radio show, LoveLudes, on the award winning Bonnerfide Radio every Monday at 9pm ET (www.bonnerfideradio.com/listen-live), and contributes to philanthropic causes, such as working to build awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Thomas is very excited about performing at the venue that has hosted music greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Tony Bennett, Grover Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Phyllis Hyman and even current big names like Brian McKnight.
“Performing on the renowned Blues Alley stage is HUGE to me!,” said Thomas. “It is overwhelming to consider all of the amazing artists and musicians who have showcased at Blues Alley–and now me! I am excited to share my music on such a great platform.”
Recognizing that his loyal fans will be in attendance, in addition to some who are just becoming familiar with his music, Thomas wants to leave them with a lasting impression, and also prepare them for his sophomore album, which will be released later this year.
“It is my goal to give the audience a great and polished show,” he said. “I want everyone to be able to connect with me, feel the music and internalize the lyrics–hopefully walking away inspired to love more and dream bigger.”
