*This past week, reports Gospel Today, Rev. Jesse Jackson hosted thousands from near and far in Chicago at the 40th annual PUSH Convention. The week’s theme: “A More Perfect Union: Closing the Gap.”

Still standing for civil rights, Jackson warned that voting rights are under attack and inequities have heightened regarding foreclosures, underemployment, lack of jobs, and legal issues, especially as it relates to churches. On Tuesday, several seminars and workshops were held for pastors to help them understand how to deal with the foreclosure crisis that continues to sweep through black communities.

The “1,000 Churches Connected Ministers’ Luncheon” featured keynote speaker, Bishop Charles Blake, Presiding Prelate of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) denomination. Bishop Blake spoke about maintaining vision.
