*The students of the U.S. are being equated to tourists in their own country.

The only difference between them though is that most tourists will no more U.S. history than both the adults and students who actually live here.  The problem with the measuring stick being used to assess the proficiency though, is that the results are being based on about 30,000 students.

According to the Associated Press, “More than 7,000 fourth-grade students, 11,000 eighth graders and 12,000 high school seniors from a nationally representative sample took the test last year.”  So, they are telling us that these students (more…)
