*The Black Eyed Peas announced Sunday at a show at Alton Towers in England in front of 18,000 fans that they will be taking an extended break from music for a long time.
“This is a very special show for us,” revealed singer Fergie. “Because it is the last time we’re going to be in England for a long time.
“We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning. We’re going to be taking a break just like we did after we released Monkey Business in 2005 until we came back in 2009. But this isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us.”
The group is actually on tour right now in Europe and will be performing twice in the US before they begin their vacation.
Later, will.i.am confirmed this news on Twitter:
“The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.”
This will be the second hiatus the group has taken in less than 10 years. Who knows what they have up their sleeve for the future.
