*Bishop Joe Simon has been officially inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. The former R&B singer turned preacher was recently honored for his catalog of past secular recordings as well as his current and classic Gospel hits.

He’ll be among legends like Mahalia Jackson, Louis Armstong, Fats Domino, Jimmie Davis and Johnny Rivers.

Also, “There’s A God Somewhere,” written and recorded by the bishop, will be used as a track on the fundraising CD compilation for Louisiana’s statehood bicentennial commemoration. The disc is being produced by the LMHOF and the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission, headed by General Russell Honore (Ret).

The CDs will be sold at events across the State of Louisiana and thru the Bicentennial and The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame websites during calendar year 2012. Proceeds will go toward funding the events of the Louisiana Bicentennial (1812-2012).
