*Los Angeles Laker all-star guard Kobe Bryant is in talks with Turkish basketball club Besiktas about possibly playing overseas during the NBA lockout.

“It is a fact that Kobe Bryant’s managers have contacted us,” coach Ergin Ataman said Thursday, a week after Besiktas signed New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams.

The club admitted that it’s going to need a sponsor to carry Kobe on their team.

In the meantime, Kobe has been touring China and sharing with the public he is considering playing overseas. China and Turkey are options for the star.

Other NBA players have also contacted Ataman. The Turkish season starts in October.

Also former Laker Sasha Vujacic signed with a Turkish club last week. He signed a one-year deal with an optional second year.

Several other players are considering overseas basketball as well.
