Comedian Affion Crockett arrives at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards held at the Gibson Amphitheatre on August 7, 2011 in Universal City, California

*Comic Affion Crockett, best known for his comedy sketches on YouTube and stint on Nick Cannon’s former MTV sketch comedy series “Wild ‘N Out,” returns to television this weekend with a show of his very own.

Produced by Jamie Foxx and MADtv co-creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small, “In the Flow with Affion Crockett” premieres this Sunday at 9 p.m. on FOX after several false starts, beginning back in Sept. 2010 when it was picked up as a midseason replacement under the name “Untitled Jamie Foxx Project.”

It was then scheduled to premiere on June 9, but plans were scrapped at the last minute. Now, it looks as if Crockett’s vehicle will finally see the light of day in an hour-long debut on Sunday, with half-hour episodes to air at 9:30 on following weeks.

“I would say it’s the nephew of ‘In Living Color,’” Crockett told EURweb of his series. “I’ve had the privilege of working with all of the Wayanses and they all support me. I’ve studied them, but I’ve also made my own original brand and flavor from that comedy.”

Crockett says “In the Flow” will combine the spoofing artistry of the Wayans Bros with the precision parody of Weird Al Yankovic.

At last week’s Television Critics Association Press Tour in Beverly Hills, the comedian gave us a preview of what we’ll see on the show in the coming weeks.
