The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that Darius Miles, a former NBA player, was arrested at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport after he allegedly tried to take a loaded gun on a plane.
The report says that Miles, 29, was held around 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday after X-ray screening at the airport helped security officials detect the loaded firearm. It was not known if the gun was found on Miles or in his luggage.
Miles, who’s from St. Louis, was booked into county jail Wednesday evening on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon. He was subsequently released. The St. Louis County prosecutor’s office will decide whether to file charges following a review of the case.
While in the NBA, Miles played for the LA Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers and Memphis Grizzlies. His last year was 2009.
