*While Leah Remini has confirmed via Twitter that she will not be returning to “The Talk” for its second season, she said she’s “praying for Holly Robinson Peete,” her former “Talk” co-host who’s also reportedly on the Season 2 chopping block.
Peete tweeted support for Remini, saying that she was “devastated” by Remini’s departure, and that the actress brought “humor, heart and authenticity” to the show. As for her own future with the show, Peete tweeted, “Still under contract but have not been picked up yet. #fingerscrossed #realtalk.”
Remini tweeted: “It is official: I am sorry to say that I have NOT been asked back on the show. Sorry to my fans. U worked so hard! I adore u guys. After someone replied asking why, Remini tweeted back, “No reason was given.”
Remini’s Twitter timeline is scattered with replies to followers saying that she is “upset” and that she “will miss it.”
“Talk” co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Julie Chen have yet to comment on Remini’s departure. As previously reported, “The Talk” has added comedian Sheryl Underwood and Kardashian mom Kris Jenner as co-hosts for the new season.
