ABC Nabs Fifth Project from Shonda Rhimes

*ABC just bought another one-hour drama from Shonda Rhimes, reports TV Guide.

After selling the drama pilot “Gilded Lillys” to the network in late August, the TV writer/producer has sold an untitled series about a young Minneapolis defense lawyer who struggles to start his own firm after being fired from his high-powered gig. As he delves into his new path, he realizes he may have been cashiered from his old firm after getting to close to a deadly cover-up.

The project will be executive-produced by Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Jenna Bans (“Off the Map”), who will also write.

Rhimes’ other ABC shows include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice” and the upcoming drama “Scandal,” starring Kerry Washington.
