*The remake of classic the 1979 film “Sparkle” is growing by the minute.
Cee Lo Green is now a part of the production as a cast member and of course he’ll most likely sing on the soundtrack. He’ll be joining Jordin Sparks who will play the title role and Whitney Houston who will be her mother.
Others include Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter who will play the sisters that together rise up as stars in the Motown-era.
Green will play the role of their opening act while Omari Hardwick will be the sexy love interest for one of the sisters. Derek Luke and Mike Epps are also a part of the cast.
Oh, and we can’t forget R. Kelly is in charge of the music for the soundtrack.
Rehearsals have begun and filming will start in October.

yes yes yes i cant wate……this already sounds so good…whitney please keep it together…and sing on the sountrack and in the movie if possible..even if your teachin your daughter sparkle a note or 2…that b nice…cause we lovvv u:)>>and cee.lo…………im hooked on your musical style..just lv it:)
Jordin can sing fairly well but can she act???? I will wait until this film comes out on DVD to see it. I am apprehensive about this film because the original was excellent.
I wouldn’t go as far to say the original was excellent. The original left a lot to be desired in the sense the cinematography was terrible, the movie was way too dark. The original is a cult classic but I am looking forward to this remake. I am sure the soundtrack will be great because R. Kelly is very talented.
Exactly my thoughts the movie was dark and some scenes were hard to see!!!!!!
When I heard about the re-make at first, I was a little taken back because its one of those classic black films that you don’t touch but with the actors and singers chosen for this, it looks like a pass green. Now lets see if they can deliver the hype on the screen.
