Denzel Washington Courted for Action Film ‘Flight’

*Denzel Washington is reportedly being sought by producers to play an alcoholic/drug addicted pilot who becomes a hero when he rescues his aircraft after an engine malfunction.

Titled “Flight,” Robert Zemeckis is set to direct from a script written by “Coach Carter” scribe John Gatins.

Washington, 56, would play a pilot who becomes a hero when he rescues his aircraft, although evidence of his alcoholism and drug addiction surfaces during a later investigation.

Denzel will next take on a leading role in spy thriller ‘Safe House’ written by “An Inconvenient Truth” director David Guggenheim and also starring Ryan Reynolds . As previously reported, the movie follows a US special agent who goes on the run in South America with a prisoner – played by Denzel – whose safe house is attacked.

  1. Oh please let this film be much better than that train-wreck “Unstoppable” was. Talk about a story that could’ve been told in 30 minutes taking an hour & a half to tell!! They tried to make it interesting & exciting, but it wasn’t. I’m a huge Denzel fan, but Unstoppable was my least favorite film of his. Hoping this one will be much better.
