Enquirer: ‘Talk’s’ Julie Chen Now Wants Sheryl Underwood Out

*If you believe the tabloids, Sheryl Underwood’s new gig on “The Talk” is now in jeopardy.

Having replaced original co-host Leah Remini at the left end of the table, the comedian is rumored to be next on moderator’s Julie Chen chopping block, according to the National Enquirer. The tabloid also reports that Chen “cannot wait” for Molly Shannon’s guest-hosting turn – replacing Holly Robinson Peete – to come to an end.

“Julie believes they made a mistake by adding Sheryl to the panel. She thinks Sheryl’s comedy is too crude for daytime TV,” a source told the Enquirer. “Julie doesn’t mince words – she says Sheryl’s vulgar style isn’t a good fit.”

According to the Enquirer, Chen was particularly upset when Sheryl made light of a discussion about suicide during a talk about “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” husband Russell Armstrong.

Meanwhile, after the contracts for Holly and Leah were not renewed, it was alleged that Chen had been warning her co-hosts that her husband could fire them, says the Enquirer.

“The Talk” premiered in October, 2010, with co-hosts, creator and executive producer Sara Gilbert, 36, Chen as the moderator, Leah Remini, 41, Holly Robinson Peete, 46, Sharon Osbourne, 58, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, 38, as a special correspondent. Winokur was asked to leave the show in January.

The Enquirer’s source said: “Julie didn’t like Holly and Leah, and now she’s made it obvious that she’s not happy with Sheryl and Molly. At this point it looks like it may turn into the ‘Julie, Sara and Sharon show.’”

Meanwhile, the New York Post is quoting another unnamed source who says Chen, who is married to CBS President and CEO Les Moonves, is wreaking havoc on the set with cast changes, and insiders are referring to the show as “the Les Moonves show starring his annoying wife.”

  1. If true, I KNEW it would be just a matter of time. Sheryl will not be able to contain or restrain herself on this kind of talk show, which is too bad, because this show could use a shot in the AZZ to get it going and keep it interesting. I think it should be cancelled, but for Les Moonves!

  2. I believe this story because Ms Chen has actedl like awitch before whne she use to be on the CBS Early show as a co anchor and then she was dating/banging Les Moonves while he was still married. Tramp!! LOL She thinks just because she is the boss’s wife she can dictate who to fire etc. She ahd better be careful fate can come and bite you in the azz. Also, she can be replaced as the Mrs because as the saying goes you can lose a person the same way you got them.

  3. That’s some straight bullshit!

  4. Julie is the consummate Dragon Lady…no doubt! I heard Les Moonves’ ex-wife won’t even allow their children to eat Chinese food anymore.

  5. I knew sooner or later this would go down. I thought this was not a good ideal but there are more opportunities for Sheryl to explore. Julie is a wreck herself.

  6. unless sheryl told them she’d tone it down before they hired her, julie doesn’t have a point. Julie should have known what she was getting. I know one thing- if they fire Sheryl, they better get her to sign an agreement not to talk badly about the show. Ms Underwood is gonna leave that show with a bang and will not be as polite and nicey nicey as Holly Pete.

I don’t watch the show is it interesting at all? But I knew that damn Julie Chen was going to continue to be a problem after Holly and the other lady left. She is a control freak and no one absolutly no one will ever be good enough to sit next to her crazy controlling azz.Anf then she just call her husband and you’re FIRED. This is some real shiggity

  8. Well, I’ve been recording the show because I wanted to watch it fail after Holly and Leah left.

Lately, I’ve been surprised that I’ve enjoyed it more than the View!!! (no thanks to Julie or Sheryl).

Aisha Tyler has been on this week and let me say she has been wonderful as a cohost and sparks good conversation. Kris Jenner is OK. And even boring Sarah can add some interesting points.

I’ve watched Sheryl since her debut on this show and I’ve never thought she fit. She was loud, crude and unfunny. Plus she’s dumb. I basically cringed everytime she spoke. She is like a stereotype in the flesh. Thankfully, since the very smart and classy Aisha has been on Sheryl has tried to be more intelligent and toned down. So, she is more tolerable and it’s good to have two expressions of black womanhood on this week.

As for Molly Shannon she was an odd duck but she grew on me. She is very animated facially and physically (I thought that was part of her SNL act but apparently she’s this weird in person). She moves constantly like she has mania or something but is very open and vulnerable, which made her incredibly endearing. I felt she was a sweet, unique personality that added to the show. I really grew to like Molly.

Sharon Osborne could be replaced because her presence just disturbs the harmony to me. As annoying as Kris Jenner is, she’s been giving a much needed break from Sharon as her subsitute these past two weeks.

I don’t have much to say on Julie… I don’t trust her…she seems manipulative. She smiles with pity at Sheryl’s jokes and then quickly changes the conversation to redirect attention from Sheryl. Unfortunately Aisha made a comment about Asians yesterday (“When Micheal Jackson starting looking Asian I was done with him”) and I’m sure Julie may question asking her to continue in the future. (Darn Aisha! How did you let that slip out, sitting right next to Julie!).

Overall, sadly, the show has been better without Leah and Holly — which is shocking and which I did not anticipate. In fact, this week, due to Aisha, i think it’s been better than the View.

    • I really need to check this show out. Seems like a lot of drama.

I didn’t even know that asian bitch was moving up like that. A home wrecker with the whole drama played out on television. And having the nerve to be so judgmental of of others.
Bitch is a straight ho. No class. No telling how many people she fucked to get where she now is.

“I’ve watched Sheryl since her debut on this show and I’ve never thought she fit. She was loud, crude and unfunny. Plus she’s dumb. I basically cringed everytime she spoke. She is like a stereotype in the flesh.”

Although I’ve never watched the show, that’s what I was basically thinking when I heard that she was a replacement for Holly. I don’t want to say she is not in Holly’s class, but they are definitely cut from a different cloth. But I can’t imagine Holly not being a good fit for a show like that. Maybe that asian bitch was just jealous.

But who knows, Sheryl’s “crudeness” may be what the show needs to improve the ratings. But it doesn’t seem that J-ho will give that a chance to happen.

Sorry to hear about Aisha. And them fucking asians believe they better than blacks, so you know there will be repercussions.

  9. brooklynbabe says:

Let’s not forget that Aisha is also a comedian and that she can be off color herself. Hence, the MJ/Asian crack.

I like Sheryl but, I haven’t seen her in that forum. Hopefully, someone will pull her coat and she’ll be given a chance to improve with time.

Somebody needs to throw Julie out with the bath water.

  10. WTF do they KNOW WTF people do, hire them, then?, act like they DIDN’T know WTF they do & wanna FIRE them for being…”them”!?? Sheeeeit! If you didn’t want “me” at yo spot?, don’t send ME a fkn…invitation!!, PERIOD! I ain’t BEGGIN yo as-s to “be thurr” ANYway, so…WTF is DAT shyt about!?? HEHH!!?? And?, maybe the “issue” ain’t with no one BUT this spoiled wifey as-s Chen chick! Just how many she g’on fire, before peeps see it aint the “others”, it’s HUH as-s!? Just a fkn “thought”! S.I.D.!

  11. yep…………they are ALL a bunch of FOOLZ……….”"drug addict”"………………………damn BRIT (why are ALL these ENGLANDERS on u.s.a. television)……..Sharon Osbourne, 58

  12. She is exactly what Hollywood thinks black people love. Her comedy is really really nasty, vulgar, so why didn’t Julie Chink do her homework. You get what you pay for. Helps to be sleeping with the head of the network, it is called the star system. Stars backwards spells
    RATS

    • You guys are going on like Sheryl is on there telling dirty jokes. You all might want to check it out before you go on with how she is on this show.

  13. hanselandhansel says:

I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and just happened to catch a few minutes each day of the show. I had never even heard of it prior to that. Anyway, Sheryl seemed extremely out of place on the panel. She was struggling to get a word in edge-wise. It was obvious that a couple of the women, including the Asian woman, didn’t want her at the table. There were a couple of times where they were being very disrespectful by cutting her off. they were not doing the same to the other panalists. She just seemed to be really struggling. She was trying to be funny but I don’t think she was aggressive enough as far as making herself be on equal ground with the other women. I think she’s scared to assert herself on the show. I was saying to myself that Sheryl would probably be replaced shortly and it looks like it’s going to happen. I like Sheryl but her personality probably isn’t the best for daytime talk. They really need someone like Star Jones or Omarosa, who would wipe up the floor with the Chen woman. But, it will never happen.

  14. comic viewer says:

This is all so unreal to fans that there seems to be sneekiness and lots of controlling on THE TALK. Sad that someone who was considered so good, clean, nice can’t be trusted b/c if you TALK and share you ideas —like the True Title of the show states, really now shows that you can get fired for your opinions. Guess free speech doesn’t exist there. Many times I didn’t agree with some of the comments but think we all learn and deepen our own views from all comments as long as they are not vulgar. Julie’s ideas where not always the best either.. Maybe Les will wish he never left his family for this nightmare.

So DEFINITE Need a new name for the show it seems—like MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!! LOL

Have a blest week viewers. I am already done with watching now, THANKS to Julie’s attitude. She couldn’t even be honest to share with the fans the issue at hand. She really has shown the sad truths. Sneeking is never fashionable. Yes, I know fans, we need to consider the source.
Sorry Leah and Holly had to experience the flames.

This is a lesson well learned —not all that carry great smiles can be trusted but can carry a knife to stick in your back as you turn and least expect it. Learn it well. Just saying—Les maybe is the next that should watch his back.

  15. rewithman85 says:

That’s what Julie Chen gets for firing two down to earth women like Holly and Leah. If she was really smart, then she should know that she will never find anyone who is better than those two.

I hope that The Talk goes down the hill and so will Julie Chen and the rest of the ‘ego’ clan.

IT IS KIND OF FUNNY THAT JULIE CHEN REPLACED HOLLY AND LEAH WITH A SO-CALLED COMEDIAN LIKE MOLLY SHANNON AND AN ANNOYING ONE LIKE SHERYL UNDERWOOD.

  16. Jocelyn brown says:

What does Julie Chen has that is so special that she can just fire anyone at anytime she wants to besides her CBS exec husband ? Are they these big and so powerful that they can do whatever? Wow, whatt a selfish, self absorbed big headed , egoistic son of gun. One of these days someone bigger will fire both of them. I hope so.
