*Nominations for the 2011 American Music Awards were announced Tuesday morning, and British chanteuse Adele leads all competition with four nods, including artist of the year and favorite album for her latest, “21.”
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, The Band Perry and Taylor Swift each earn three nods apiece, while Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Jason Aldean, Kanye West, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and Pitbull collected two nominations.
Winners will be determined by online voting. Fans can vote at the Coca-Cola AMA website, amavote.com, as well as AMA.abc.com.
The 39th annual AMAs will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, Nov. 20 on ABC. Perry and Pitbull were also announced as performers on the show, which is executive produced by Dick Clark Productions’ Orly Adelson and Larry Klein, AMA producer.

My pick would be Adele, her song Chasing Pavements she did a while back is one of my favorite. Adele says she sings for the ears not the eyes……amen to that!
