*A New York Times column surfaced on the web featuring photos from a 2010 Halloween party at the law office of Steven J. Baum — a top foreclosure firm in New York State — where employees were dressed as homeless people, openly mocking those who had been victims of foreclosure.

In pics obtained from a former employee, one woman is seen wearing a sign that reads, “3rd party squatter. I lost my home and I was never served.” [See above.] According to the unnamed source, the sign is meant to reflect “the typical excuse” of homeowners attempting to avoid a foreclosure proceeding. The source adds that the images are an accurate representation of the firm’s mindset. “There is this really cavalier attitude,” she said. “It doesn’t matter that people are going to lose their homes.” The former employee said that she wanted to make the images public in order to show the firm’s “appalling lack of compassion towards homeowners.” Steven J. Baum represents giant mortgage lenders including Bank of America, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo.

People.com is reporting that Nicole Richie (L) channeled Jennifer Lopez so convincingly at Kate Hudson’s costume party Saturday night in Los Angeles that the paparazzi had to do a double take.  Richie achieved it with precise simplicity, donning a pink tracksuit, huge hoop earrings and big sunglasses and pulling her hair back.

Also per People.com, Kim Kardashian channeled her inner villainess at the New York club Lavo on Saturday night, suiting up as Batman bad girl Poison Ivy at a Midori-sponsored party. Not on her arm: Kardashian’s husband of nine weeks, pro basketball player Kris Humphries.  “I’m going to Australia tomorrow so I’m in New York alone tonight,” the reality mogul, 31, told People, brushing off rumors of trouble in her marriage.
