*Over the weekend during the Frys.com Open in San Martin, Calif., a gawking fan threw a hot dog at Tiger Woods, nearly distracting him for a putt at the seventh green.
The fan was seen bursting from the crowd shouting, “Tiger, Tiger,” before the hot dog flew into the air and landed on the grass. The wiener didn’t hit the golfer, but be assured, the man was quickly arrested.
Whether it was a publicity stunt or just plain old stupidity, the man certainly got more attention than he asked for.
“I guess he wanted to be in the news. And I’m sure he will be,” the 35-year-old pro golfer commented.
“Some guy just came running on the green, and he had a hot dog, and evidently … I don’t know how he tried to throw it, but I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling,” Woods shared his version of the hot dog attack. “Next thing I know, he laid on the ground, and looked like he wanted to be arrested because he … put his hands behind his back and turned his head.”
The man was arrested and removed from the property swiftly after the fiasco. He was charged with disturbing the peace.
To his credit, the man did admit he was a little tipsy from earlier in the day and seemed quite remorseful about the whole stint.
