*It was previously reported that John Singleton is filing a $20 million lawsuit against MTV Films and Paramount Studios for allegedly reneging on an agreement to green light and distribute two of his films, after he sold them the right to distribute “Hustle and Flow.”

The moviemaker claimed that Paramount made it more than difficult to make his movies. According to EW Inside Movies, Paramount responded to Singleton’s claims saying he has no grounds for his claims.

“Paramount was hoping that John Singleton would produce two more pictures before his agreement with our studio ended in 2010, but that did not happen. Instead, he went on to direct Abduction for Lionsgate. Paramount fulfilled all of its obligations and his claims have absolutely no merit.”
