*After GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain responded to Morgan Freeman’s comments about the Tea Party, another black Tea Party affiliate took upon himself to take care of Samuel L. Jackson’s similar statements.
Rep. Allen West, one of two Black Republicans in the House of Representatives, got on the actor about similar comments about the Tea Party being racist.
“I think Samuel Jackson needs to pay more attention to the upcoming release of the movie ‘Avengers’ next summer and not [get] concerned with the politics and policies of the failed administration,” West said on Fox News.
Jackson echoed his colleague’s sentiments about the Tea Party in an interview with New York magazine.
“I think everything right now is geared toward getting that guy out of office, whatever that means,” Jackson said. “It’s not politics. It is not economics. It all boils down pretty much to race. It is a shame.”
West, who is a popular guy among his GOP/Tea Party folk, accused the actor of seeing things from a narrow perspective and not looking at the bigger picture, being that the nation’s black unemployment is twice the rate of the national average.
