*A rep for Tupac Shakur’s estate says the family will sue anyone attempting to sell a newly-surfaced 1991 video showing the rapper receiving oral sex.

The family spokesperson tells TMZ  that only the estate has the power to authorize the use of Tupac’s image for commercial use, and there’s no way the sex tape will ever get the proper approval.

Afeni Shakur, is aware of the tape, according to TMZ, and has told her spokesperson, “Get the legal team ready because [we] will not allow someone to put it out.”

The rep says the estate is trying to figure out who is marketing the tape by attempting to identify the individuals who appear on film, including the leading lady, believing one of them might be the culprit.

Someone is trying to get paid, as this video was done 20 years ago, unfortuntely the statue of limitations doesn’t apply to films produce unless: all contractual parties are in agreement on marketing – distribution and monies garnered from the sale of this video.

Well…its him on tape doing some mess and these are the consequences and repercussions that go along with it.

  3. The familiy will either have to pay to keep the tape from being released or simply seek part of the profits from the release. Without a signed confidentially agreement (i.e, Jennifer Lopez), it’s almost impossible for a celebrity or their estate to stop the release of a sex tape because as long as the other parties involved agree to it. It’s like taking a group picture and one person in the group trying to stop the others from posting it on facebook. The other people involved have the right to sell the tape. So like I said his estate will either pay to stop the tape or ask for half of the profits.
