‘227’s’ Marla Gibbs, Regina King to Reunite on ‘Southland’

*Marla Gibbs has signed on to guest-star in an upcoming episode of procedural drama “Southland,” which stars her old “227” cast mate Regina King.

Gibbs will take on the role of Granny, a relative of a murder suspect being investigated by Detective Lydia Adams (King) on the TNT series.  The episode will air Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m., reports TV Guide.

Aside from playing housewife Mary Jenkins on the NBC sitcom “227,” Gibbs is of course best known for her portrayal of maid Florence Johnston on “The Jeffersons.”

Season 4 of Southland premieres Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10/9c on TNT.
