Essence and AAFCA Salute to Black Bond Women (Watch EUR’s Exclusive Coverage)

*While America awaits the arrival of “SPECTRE,” the latest blockbuster from the Bond Franchise arriving in theaters November 6, 2015, the African American Film Critics Association and Essence Magazine celebrated the Black Women of Bond in Los Angeles, Ca.

The Electronic Urban Report/EUR was on the scene to chat with the beautiful Bond women and the celebs that are fans of the films such as Flex Alexander & Shanice, LisaRaye McCoy, Elise Neal and Jay Ellis among others.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Columbia Pictures and Terry Hines and Associates urban division also partnered for this event that brought out Naomie Harris (Skyfall, Spectre), Halle Berry (Die Another Day), Trina Parks (1971’s Diamonds are Forever) and Gloria Hendry (1973’s Live and Let Die). Each Bond girl discussed what it meant to them to be apart of the films and still be celebrated today.

The California African American Museum also unveiled exclusive portraits shot by renowned photographer Kaku Alston of these Bond women. Select footage from each of their films were also featured. ESSENCE Magazine exclusively revealed their December cover of Naomie Harris, which was seen for the first time by all that attended.

“Bond was one of the very few franchises at the time that represented Black women” said Naomie Harris.
