*Gumbo for the Soul Publications announces a new “Call for Submissions” and a new format for writers to note.

Throughout the month of November, Adoption Awareness Month, writers are invited to submit essays, poetry, affirmations, short stories on the subjects of foster care and adoption for publishing consideration, in future publications.

What’s new? The “Call for Submissions” is open November 1-30 only. Gone are the days of old when open calls lasted for several months. Writers, it’s time to write and you have thirty days to get it done!!

Writers will share their experiences “in the system” in loving or not-so-loving environments.

Writers’ contributions will enlighten readers, empower individuals and motivate believers to have faith, focus and drive in any situation they encounter throughout life!

Submit your essay, poem, affirmation, short story – in 1,500 words or less – as a MS Word document in size 12 Times New Roman font, with a brief biography at the footer. Email AS AN ATTACHMENT with CFS-November 2011 in the subject line to [email protected].

DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR SUBMISSION IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL. GUIDELINES MUST BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO FOR PUBLICATION CONSIDERATION.

Submissions received that do not adhere to guidelines will be deleted without further communication from the publisher. Writers whose submissions are selected for publication will be notified and asked to complete a Contributor’s Agreement.
