*A good friend of EUR’s, Mr. Eddie Thomas, who managed the legendary Curtis Mayfield back in the day, sent us a link to to an incredible, classic video that we somehow managed to completely miss when it originally came out in the early 80s.

We’re talking about the late Rick James and the reunited Temptations that included Dennis Edwards, the man he replaced: David Ruffin and falsetto king Eddie Kendricks. The jam of course is funked up “Standing on the Top” from 1982.

Well, we may be on the late freight, but thanks to Mr. Thomas and YouTube we are able to witness this bad boy and relive the good times we had back then. Lawd ha’ mercy!

Anyway, what makes this video so great for us, besides the incredible track along with Rick’s production and the Tempts’ vocals,  is the choreography. To say it’s tight and off the chain is an understatement. You just don’t get that kind of presentation anymore. And that’s a shame.

Enough yakking already. Let’s get the party on and crackin’!
