*While Kim Coles was rising to stardom as one of the four leading ladies of Fox’s “Living Single,” her weight was secretly becoming a problem for executives at the network.
At one point, they told her that the writers would have to incorporate her extra pounds into the story line if it kept scooching up.
This is just one of the issues Coles discusses candidly in her episode of “Life After,” premiering Wednesday (Nov. 23) at 10 p.m. on TV One.
The 49-year-old, Brooklyn-born actress also opens up about the debacle that was her stint as an original cast member on “In Living Color,” believing she got little face time and was eventually fired after one season because the focus was on fellow cast member Kim Wayans, the sister of the show’s creator Keenen Ivory Wayans.
Before you tune in to “Life After,” Kim Coles gives more details of her episode (including her initial reluctance to even do it) in the below phone conversation with EURweb’s Lee Bailey. Listen below, and scroll down to see promo clips.

Weight becomes issue at Living Single
In Living Color debacle

I just recently started watching TVONE, “Life after” should be an hour, there, I said it. I never thought much about Kim Coles being booted off the show, since that line of work is like a revolving door and she wasn’t that funny but, working for the Wayans, must’ve been like wading into a swirling mass of a snake whirpool/storm!! Glad to see she survived. . . . I saw that Tracy Lawrence has a sitcom, it leaves some to be desired but, the cast more than makes up for it, “1/2 & 1/2″. Good Times, Cosby. Y’all need to tune in.
I watch TVOne and I particularly like the Unsing series and Life After and a couple of other shows the channel has that are interesting.
You know I never ever realized that she was on In Living Color for only one season…it never dawned on me but Kim Wayans was and is funny as hell…
I’m glad that she’s survived the biz as long as she has. I remember when she was on Soul Train (around 83-85) and she was funny to a 15 y.o.
Sorry, Kim Wayans is just one funny mofo. Even when all she has are bit parts on TV or big screen, either my mouth is wide open or I’m cracking up. The only person funnier is Lucille Ball from the 50s.
