Fans Tell Tyler they want Kim K Banned from ‘The Marriage Counselor’

*Fans of Tyler Perry are berating the director on his website for hiring recently divorced television reality star Kim Kardashian who he cast to appear in his upcoming movie “The Marriage Counselor.”

Apparently, folks feel Kardashian, who just filed for divorce 72 days after her made-for-TV movie, should be booted off the project.

In the meantime, Kardashian arrived in Atlanta Tuesday afternoon on a Delta flight.

Perry’s website has been flooded with comments chiding Perry for casting Kardashian.

One wrote, “Mr. Perry, when I first heard you had selected Kim to star in a role in one of your movies, I dismissed it as a typo.  I’m not sure what you expect her to bring to your set.”

Another wrote, “I believe it is against your better judgment to have Kim Kardashian star as a supporting actress in your upcoming movie.  You still have a moral responsibility to your supporters to maintain a level of integrity when it comes to casting your movies.  I have to boycott this film if Kim Kardashian is part of this project.”

Another weighed in with, “Kim Kardashian in your movie? Why have you stooped so low?”

Still another commented; “Well Tyler, since you are going ahead and keeping Kim Kardashian in your new movie in spite of how your fans feel tells it all.  You’re beginning to sound arrogant.  I feel so proud of how hard you work and how connected you are to your fan base. I don’t see it as your fans telling you what to do I feel like we can because of our undying support, but dang it Tyler Perry, Kim Kardashian does not fit.”

Kardashian will play a supporting role in “The Marriage Counselor” as the pal of the main character.  She’ll be filming a party scene to be shot in a loft apartment somewhere in the ATL, according to AJC.com’s The Buzz blog, and will also feature “Desperate Housewife” star Vanessa Williams.

As for her brief marriage to Kris Humphries, Kim recently posted a message to fans, explaining that she married for love, but just couldn’t make things work with Humphries.

Despite the controversy, it is rumored that Kim may plan to hit the town while she is there. Last month, she posted this birthday greeting to R&B star Ciara:

“I love you and hope you have the best birthday ever! We need to celebrate when I come to the ATL!”

  1. Well his selection of her prior to her “marriage” just showed Tyler’s mindset. He is Hollywood now. She doesn’t represent a positive woman.

  2. This is Tyler Perry’s movie. Have any of you put money into this movie……I didn’t think so.

    • co-what? co-sign.

First of all everytime we go to the theater, or buy one of his plays or go see his plays we are paying for him to be able to continue to make movies and plays. So yes all of his supporter has put money into his movies. An actor or actress without fans don’t make money.

I think you guys are being ridiculous. Does anyone check to see if Anthony Hopkins is a murderer or cannibal since doing Hannibal? Its only a movie and in no way HAS to reflect a persons personal life. What about Tyler Perry himself? Does that make him womanly by doing Madea? People, its only a movie, give Kim K. a break.

  4. Get over yourself and your emotions. It’s not that serious. Over a TO movie anyhows. I think some folk just mad because she loves chocolate. Just don’t go see the movie. Dayum.

    • Diva – you hit the nail on the head. I seriously doubt those complaining are men. Her love of chocolate and demonstrated success in getting lots of chocolate is a key factor in the haterade.

I’m not rushing to see ANY Tyler Perry movies anyway. But just like he has a right to cast whomever he wants in his movies, his longtime fans and supporters have a right to express their displeasure. They also have a right to boycott this movie if they see fit. I’m curious to see how much money Tyler makes or loses on this film. If it is a bust, then he will have learned something. For real.

  6. We are all entitled to an opinion, especially of we watch any of his movies. But the box office return is going to be the ultimate judge of the wisdom of his decision.

    Wouldn’t that be some shit?
The first Tyler Perry movie to bomb at the box office.

Well welcome to modern society… All this Twittering, Facebook and direct response to fans have given a lot of people the false impression that they can control casting of a movie? Really? I’m not a fan of KK either and I was a little surprise to see her be cast, but to think that I can tell TP how to run his movies is a bit ridiculous. Then again what can one expect from this reality tv generation? Geez.

  8. Fans actually plays a role in the casting of a movie. And if we voice our objection with our dollars and not just our mouth, the producers will have no choice but to listen.

  9. musbdherbs says:

I think we all understand that Tyler is about making money.

    End of story.

  10. Damita Danyelle says:

Personally I think Tyler Perry is “right on point” with choosing Kim Kardashian for this movie! Forget the haters! Kim Kardashian won’t bring added crowds to his movie? … yeah right! This man knows what he’s doing. I think it will be great to see her as an actress. Honestly, if ever there comes to be an Elizabeth Taylor movie, Kim Kardashian needs to snag that role quick! Anyway, regardless of what she does in her personal life (just like us normal people) it should not affect her professional life. Kudo’s to you Kim and dismiss the EVERY LAST ONE OF YOUR haters!

  11. timmdogg_00 says:

I think Tyler is smart to use her. With the headline grabbing remarks concerning the authenticity of her marriage it would be GREAT marketing to have her cast in this film. Remember, Janet’s performance was praised for which she at the time lost her brother Michael. Sometimes controversy is a good thing = profits!!!

  12. 1. First of all this story was cut and pasted from a newspaper, I believe the Atlanta Constitution, because I read it yesterday word for word there. That’s plaigiarism. Please link to that site.

    2. Tyler is going after spectacle as always. And he always hires quasi-actors with real actors, so this is typical.

    3. I don’t understand the rabid hate toward Kim Kardashian. People are looking really crazy spewing venom all over the internet because this chick is getting divorced. Look, you watched the show of your own free will, she got married now she’s divorcing. Deal with it. Life goes on.

  13. I wonder if he held auditions, or just put her in there. She is NOT a trained actress. I know PLENTY of actresses that would do way better and deserve the role and need the work and money. I’d sign and help forward the petitions if/when someone send one around. (But then again, his stuff isn’t all that deep anyone could “act” in a TP movie).

  14. TP is going after the KK fan base.. ie. the ones that buy the Karshian clothes line, the ones that bought their line of credit cards and the ones that watch their reality TV programming and the ones who ate up every detail of her staged wedding . I would guess many of these folks are unfamiliar with TP. So for each person that vows to boycott, another 3 people will vow to see the movie.

  15. MOTHERSHIP says:

Of all the BONAFIDE actors and actresses, Phyllis Yvonne Stickney, to name one, who can actually use the role, and who have paid their dues, he goes and finds a sextape trollop to cast in a movie of his? I have supported Tyler from day one, but not this trip. It’s an insult to those who have supported him and a slap in the face to real actors who are true to their craft.

  16. I see that dealing in dumb is the new norm now huh? SMFH!
