In New Book Shaq Says ‘Too Many Options’ Wrecked his Marriage

*Shaquille O’Neal recently came clean about his first marriage in his new memoir, “Shaq Uncut:  My Story.”

O’Neal was married to Shaunie Nelson for several years and the two had four children, but the couple split in 2009 amid allegations of infidelity.

Shaq wrote, “At one time my ex-wife Shaunie and I were happy, but I admit it—I was a guy. I was a guy with too many options.  Choosing to be with some of those women, well, that’s me. In my mind, I never did it disrespectfully, but obviously I shouldn’t have done it at all.”

Shaunie, the creator of the popular show “Basketball Wives,” hired a private investigator to get all the details of Shaq’s moves.

They discovered Shaq’s sexting and uncovered his mistress, Vanessa Lopez, who eventually sued him for harassing her after their affair.

Shaunie filed for divorce and was granted custody of the children.

Shaq is now in a relationship with Nikki “Hoopz” Alexander, who was featured on the VHI reality show “Flavor of Love” and “I Love Money.”

The two make an eye-catching pair—Alexander is 5’1” to Shaq’s 7’1” towering frame.

Rumors recently surfaced that Shaq and Nikki recently eloped and that Shaq got married without a prenup, but those rumors have not been confirmed.

  1. Shaq you did not have to take the bait just because women were available to you. I guess he did not want to honor those vows huh? Big goon needs to get over himself.

    • Put a bunch of crack in front of an old crackhead everyday and see if he slips. Surround a person who lost 400 lbs with the best smelling deserts, meats, and breads, and see if he indulges. Put a championship winning, black basketball playing, product endorsing athlete into the world surrounded by women who don’t care if he is married, that dress the flyest, have on the best perfumes, whose bodies are in incredible shape, and see if he does not slip. The average man can say “No” 100 times. Even 1000 times. But with that kind of temptation, even the best of us could fail. So leave him alone and worry about your own sins.

      • @grownman he could have avoided slipping if he would have just stayed single since he had so much temptation that he couldn’t turn down.

        • Yeah, but those that get married never think it can happen to them. He could’ve only turned down 777 at the time. But when he got to 1000, it’s over. Plus in the back of the mind of anyone who marries an entertainer or athlete, they know it’s a high risk of cheatinism.

  2. Question to Shaq: How does someone “respectfully” cheat on their spouse? You sound like a damn fool! Cheating & respect do not go hand in hand DUMMY!

  3. I don’t think Shaunie was faithful her damn self which does not make it right, but let’s be fair about it and then she’s getting her hustle on with that stupid ass ghetto show…that shit is so staged…its like really? Especially that chick that married the gruesome guy with the tiddy on his forehead. You know she did that to get paid…

    • whether both of them were doing it or only one of them, he still sounds stupid saying he didn’t think he did it disrespectfully. how does one respectfully cheat?

  4. OK, the real question is, why would he want somebody that did the nasty or wanted to with Flava Flav??? You talk about being put in the “high risk group”… UGH

  5. Pathetic reason, Shaq – what kind of man are you? He will never be faithful to any woman……
